Question by Sarah L: What does an “incomplete self image” mean psychologically?
I heard about a woman who was taken into a mental hospital because she had what was called an “incomplete self image”. When I try to find it online, all I get it things about beauty, nothing about psychology.

What is this condition?

Most likely, the people who you heard talking about her were trying to get one another to understand what the problem was.

The words “incomplete self-image” are a simplified manner of explanation.

I could speculate as to the actual meaning, but i could not be right in a literal sense.

Most likely, it means that the person does not perceive themselves the way the world perceives them, or vice versa.

The way a person perceives himself or herself is really a balance of the way that person perceives his/herself and the way the world perceives them.

I don’t see why a person would need to be taken to the mental hospital over that though, people get by day-to-day like that and they’re none the wiser.

Some people thrive like that, even.
